Dr. Weiss Farewell Letter

Dear Patients and Families,

After 34 years at Arvada Pediatrics, I am going to retire on July 1st, 2015. It is time for me to pursue the next part of my life. I feel like I have grown up with many of you. In fact, I have known some of you as patients and then as parents. Some of you I have known only as precious infants. It has been my joy and my privilege to know and work with all of you. I have been so lucky to have shared experiences with you and been a part of your lives. You have certainly been a major part of my life. Your stories and your proud moments as well as your difficult times have made me who I am.

As most of you know, continuity of care is very important to me. I want you to feel that whichever doctor or physiciant assistant you choose to see after I leave, you will feel absolutely cared for. I want that physician or PA to get to known you as well, so that your family becomes part of his or her family of patients.

We at Arvada Pediatrics have been fortunate to hire another doctor who will be starting in April 2015. Her name is Melissa McHugh. I am enclosing her bio (see website bio page). I have hand-picked Dr. McHugh to join our practice, because I feel she is passionate, compassionate, hard-working, smart, and interested in teaching. She has a love of children and respect for parents. That, after all, is what being a pediatrician is all about. I am excited to work with her for a few months until you choose to transfer your care to one of the other physicians in Arvada Pediatrics, Dr. LeBlanc, Dr. Abbey or Dr. Mercer, please know that you will also be most welcome into their practices. I am so very confident that they will take wonderful care of you.

As always, make sure the Christmas card contains pictures.

Most sincerely,

Joanie Weiss, MD
